Meet Karma

My Story

Today, I am a confident and purposeful woman living my life with intention. However, there was a time when living didn't seem like a possibility.

In 2009, right after giving birth to my youngest daughter, I had three heart attacks that left me with a bleak prognosis from doctors. As a mother of four young children, including a newborn, this was the scariest and most disempowering experience of my life. Though the road to physical recovery was challenging, and even excruciating at times, I found strength in my resilience and the knowledge that I had always made it through tough times.

Despite healing physically, I found myself struggling mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I felt stagnant and unfulfilled, and uncertain if I would ever be able to live without the fear of my heart failing again. But I knew I wanted more out of life.

So I began working on myself, even when it was uncomfortable. I discovered that too many areas of my life were unbalanced, as I had been putting everyone else's needs before my own.

While overcoming this tragedy, I reconnected with my meditation practice, read many books on resiliency, and made gratitude a daily practice. And as I shifted my mindset, my life began changing for the better. I no longer felt like I was just existing—I was truly living a fulfilling life.

This process took time, but it was worth every moment.

About Konversations with Karma

I founded Konversations with Karma because I believe that we all thrive—people, organizations, and cultures—when we understand, develop, and offer our unique gifts to the world.

As a heart attack survivor who previously worked in the mental and behavioral health field, I have come to deeply believe in the importance, and impact, of holistic well-being. Over the years, I have successfully overcome a life-threatening medical condition, advocated for services for my child with a behavioral/mental health diagnosis, and undergone positive psychology/coach training. Together, these experiences taught me the necessary skills (and awareness) to successfully help my clients navigate their own challenges and empower them to take meaningful action.

By drawing on my experience as a Positive Psychologist, an ICF-accredited Executive Leadership Coach, and board member of ICF Georgia, I help organizations create flourishing work cultures that prioritize employee well-being through centering their unique experiences, talents, and gifts. I also support leaders in focusing on their own well-being so that they can elevate their lives to phenomenal heights and increase their impact on the world.

Here’s to illuminating the world with our gifts—one person at a time.
